Akieme, Carriço and Robles' Almería gets promoted to LaLiga Santander

//

The regular season in LaLiga Smartbank has ended and UD Almeria have achieved promotion to LaLiga Santander, as well as winning the league title. Players Akieme, Carriço and Javi Robles, represented by Promoesport, celebrated yesterday Almeria's return to the Spanish top flight seven years later.

After two consecutive failed attempts in the promotion playoffs, the Andalusian side have achieved their third promotion in their history. This season started well for the Rojiblancos, who quickly moved into the top two places and finished the first half of the season as the third highest-scoring winter champions in the second division.

Equatorial Guinea international Sergio Akieme has been a key player for his team. The full-back has been the unquestioned starter on the left flank for Almeria, standing out with an average of 28.27 good passes and 4.33 balls recovered per game. Portuguese Carriço, in his first season, has won his fifth title, after the four Europa League titles won during his time at Sevilla.

For his part, Javi Robles has fulfilled the dream he has had since he was a child, the Indalic youth player will be able to play for the club of his soul in LaLiga Santander. The 21-year-old from Almeria has learned a lot and has successfully taken advantage of the opportunities that his manager has given him this season.

Next season the Andalusians will welcome the best clubs in Spain to the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos, which will change its name to Power Horse Stadium from 1 July.
