Carles Gil, the key to the New England Revolution's offense

//

Carles Gil, represented by Promoesport, remains a stalwart in MLS. The Spanish midfielder joined the New England Revolution in 2019 and a few weeks ago extended his contract until the end of the 2026 season.

Gil arrived from Deportivo La Coruña with previous spells at Valencia and Aston Villa. On 25 February he started his sixth season with the Revolution, where he also scored a stunning goal.

In 2021, the Valencia native was recognised as the MLS Most Valuable Player, was twice included in the Ideal XI presented by Continental Tire and was called up to the MLS All-Star Game three times.

The player's arrival has been key to the Boston club's offence, as he has 39 goals and 74 assists in all competitions, the fourth-highest total in team history. Gil is averaging 0.47 assists per game, fourth-best in MLS regular-season history.

New England prepares to host the Chicago Fire this Saturday 23 March at 19:00h.
