Goalkeeper
Iván Villar has been the latest addition to the list of twenty-two players who will represent Spain at the
Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The Celta de Vigo goalkeeper, represented by
Promoesport, will be the only Celta representative in Tokyo and the fourth Galician goalkeeper in history to attend the biggest international sporting event. Villar already has experience with the Spanish U-21 and other national youth teams.
Iván Villar's call-up to the national team coincides with his renewal with Celta. The academy graduate has extended his contract and will continue to defend the goal of the Galician team until June 2024.
An unforgettable day for Iván Villar and the reward for a superb season at Balaídos. During the 2020/21 season, the goalkeeper from Aldán has played a total of 21 games in La Liga, keeping
five clean sheets in the process.
