Al-Sadd SC stay in their lane and keep investing in Spanish managers.
Javi Gracia, represented by
Promoesport, has been named
new coach of the Qatari club. After his spell in Valencia, the Navarrese takes a new challenge in a different country, the fifth of his career, after Spain, Greece, England, and Russia.
Javi Gracia
has signed a one-year deal and arrives to keep implementing the style that was having such a great result for the squad. A style closely related to the one of the golden era of Spanish football, based on positional football and the possession of the ball as the main way to get to the victory. The coach from Pamplona looked happy to arrive at a “great club”, as he said in his presentation, and has the objective of “winning every game in every competition, winning more titles and being part of the large club’s history”.
The Qatari domestic competition is nearly halfway through. Nine games in –of 22 in total–, Al-Sadd have won eight and drawn one. They are the only team without a loss yet and they sit
first in the table with 25 points, three above Al Duhail. Besides, they are the
top scoring club, with 36 goals, four per game, proof of the offensive mentality Javi Gracia will continue reenforcing.
