Daniel Carriço, new UD Almeria player

//

Daniel Carriço returns to Spain with UD Almeria. The player represented by Promoesport arrives free from Chinese Wuhan FC and will be part of the Andalusian team for the next season with an option for a further one.

The central defender is an old name in the Spanish league, as he spent more than six seasons at Sevilla FC (between 2013 and 2020), a period in which he was the leader and bastion of the Nervión team's defence. During those years, he became one of the icons of the Sevillista club and was a three-time Europa League champion.

Carriço has also gone in search of new challenges abroad, in teams like Sporting Portugal, English Reading and Wuhan of the Chinese Super League. His track record establishes him as a centre-back with experience, character and competitiveness. These characteristics make the Portuguese player the perfect candidate to reinforce Almeria's defensive line. His versatility on the pitch also plays in his favour, as he can act both as a central defender and as a midfielder.

Carriço is the fifth signing of the Almeria team for this season 2021-2022 and will wear the number 23.
