Mario Suárez retires after more than 500 games

Mario Suárez, represented by Promoesport, retires at the age of 36. The former Atlético de Madrid, Valladolid, Celta de Vigo, Valencia and Rayo Vallecano player is hanging up his boots after playing more than 500 matches as a professional footballer.
The midfielder announced his retirement on social networks, where he leaves behind a La Liga championship, two European Super Cups, a Europa League, a Copa del Rey, a Spanish Super Cup, a European U19 championship and a Second Division championship. Mario Suárez has always stood out for his leadership, commitment and teamwork.
"This is how this journey ends and I would like to thank everyone who has been part of it. Managers, teammates, technical staff, workers.... I have fulfilled all the dreams and more that I had as a child, but I know that football will continue to be part of my life in other ways," he said in a statement.
