Geny Catamo, Dário Essugo and Diego Callai, represented by Promoesport, added another title to their personal trophy cabinet after Sporting CP was crowned champions of the Portuguese League.
Catamo, 23, returned to the Lisbon club for this season and became a key part of the ‘lions’ attack. Throughout this season he played 27 games and started in 17 of them, scored five goals and made three assists. In addition, he averaged 44.6 touches per game.
With this new conquest, Sporting CP reaches 20 league titles, after scoring 84 points and leaving Benfica, who lost their last match and were left with 76 points, with no chance of winning the tournament. The last time the capital club had won the league was in the 2020- 21 season.
