Carles Gil becomes the second Major League Soccer MVP represented by Promoesport

//

The Spanish dominance in the North American top-flight keeps going on 2021. Carles Gil, represented by Promoesport has been named the Most Valuable Player in the Major League Soccer. His immaculate season with New England Revolution, the club he captained to the highest punctuation of their history in the regular season –73 points–, has helped him to succeed Alejandro Pozuelo, also represented by Promoesport, as the MVP in the league.

Carles Gil becomes the third Spaniard to get the greatest individual recognition in North American football. His numbers back him as the most decisive player for his team’s victories: 4 goals, 18 assists –top of the MLS–, and 130 created chances –the best mark in MLS history–. However, his incidence in the team’s plays has been a lot bigger at every level, not just in the last third of the field. His 40 passes per game, on an 81% success rate, and the amount of duels he wins, prove that he is one of the most complete footballers in the competition.

After being named Rookie of the Year in 2019, Carles Gil keeps reaching new highs. He is the second New England Revolution player to be named MVP, and he has done it with the 52,07% of the votes. The second ended up with the 11,80%. An overwhelming victory for the Spaniard, who has signed a new contract with the team until 2024.
