Calafiori is a twenty year old Roman defender who was trained in the Roma youth academy from the age of nine. He usually plays in the left-back position, but his ability to adapt helps him to perform also as a full back and even as a central defender. His aggressiveness and effectiveness in attack are qualities that allow him to perform in both positions and demonstrate his versatility.
At his young age, he has already made a total of 18 official appearances for the Giallorossi, including not only in Serie A but also in European competition. He has made his debut in the Europa League and Conference League, winning the first edition.
Calafiori was loaned to Genoa in the winter transfer window last season. There, he improved his performances, gained experience and grown as a professional footballer. The Roman left-back is also a regular at youth level for the Italian national team, having played for the Azzurri at U-15, U-16, U-17, U-19, U-20 and most recently at U-21 level.
