Tribute of the Seville City Council to Irene Guerrero

Irene Guerrero, footballer represented by Promoesport, receives the medal of the city of Seville after being crowned world champion with the Spanish National Team. The sports centre in her neighbourhood, Pino Montano, will be named in her honour.
A week after beating England in the World Cup final, midfielder Irene Guerrero continues to be showered with praise. This time, with the Giraldillo award in recognition of her success in Australia.
"If my story inspires the next generations and the younger ones, both girls and boys, to play sport, to pursue their passions and follow their dreams, it will be a greater prestige than achieving any kind of trophy," she said during her speech at the ceremony.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Seville and members of the Junta de Andalucía.
